Algorithms don't read. We do.
A bookshop where every title on the table was chosen by a person who finished it — and will argue about it. Browse online, collect in store, or let the post bring you something wonderful.
Three things Amazon can't post
A read recommendation
Tell us the last book you loved and we'll hand you the next one. Accuracy: unsettling.
The reading chair
Velvet, sunlit, first-come. Minutes become afternoons; we've stopped apologising.
Author evenings
Writers, wine and questions better than 'where do you get your ideas'.
Staff picks this month
This month
Maya recommends: the quiet epic
"Six hundred pages and I rationed the last fifty like sweets. A family saga that earns every generation."
This month
Ben recommends: the debut
"Funny and devastating in alternating sentences — I pressed it on four customers before lunch."
This month
Priya recommends: the reread
"Twenty years old and sharper than this morning's papers. Come argue with me about the ending."
